We were given the Luci Outdoor 2.0 and the Luci EMRG for review. MPOWERD created the Luci, an inflatable solar light, to make an affordable and clean energy product. These can be used anywhere from backpacking in the mountains to backyard parties. While not only trying to make a great product for the consumers, they are trying to bring electricity to 1.5 billion in the world in the developing countries. Not just any power, but clean solar power that will remove the use of toxic and expensive kerosene lamps that most depend on.

Luco Outdoor 2.0 – Is an inflatable solar lamp that can deflate down to only 2.5 cm thick. The high efficient solar panels can fully charge the built in battery in 7 hours and on low can last up to 18 hours. The 10 LED lights are extremely bright and have 4 display modes: low, bright, super bright, and 1 sec flashing. The top has a battery indicator light and a snap handle that can assist in hanging. The Luci is perfect for backpacking, due to the light weight of 4.4 oz. The Luci holds an IP67 waterproof rating.

Luci EMERG – The EMERG is the same basic concept as the other lamps, but is smaller and has different modes, including a red LED and S.O.S. The 4 LED lights are still just as bright, and can last 7 hours on the bright setting, after an 8 hour charge. The EMERG weighs in at only 2.4 oz. and still carries the IP67 waterproof rating.

The uses for these light are countless, they definitely have their obvious use as a light. I have found myself using these in many unconventional ways, the most out of the box idea I had was have them assist in a game of washers. We were enjoying a great game of washers in the cool evening hours, when we realized how hard it was getting to see the hole. I quickly grabbed my Luci lights from by Bug Out Bag and placed them under the boxes. This illuminated the hole and ended up saving the evening.
